Water Physical Chemistry Analyser
The PHYS system is a high speed analyser for measuring these physical chemical properties of potable water samples; pH, turbidity, conductivity and colour. The robot was designed specifically to be fully automatic allowing online calibrations with real time calibration curves viewable from the robot control software. All samples are analysed using flow cells to ensure neat and tidy operation and to keep system dead volume to a minimum. The system was designed to interface with the SampleManagerâ„¢ LIMS system and will analyse AQC and blank samples at random intervals, but it can easily tailored to interface with your LIMS if required. If an AQC has drifted the robot will attempt to recover by recalibrating the suspect meter automatically. The robot software is menu driven and highly flexible with a multitude of options allowing you to customise the robot to suit your needs and working practices. The robot samples the water through a needle that has been specially designed to agitate the samples through a stirring mechanism ensuring that the sample is homogenised before analysis occurs. The colour chemistry includes an inline filtration unit that filters the water sample through 0.45um filter tape before it passes into the flow cell.
Two removable trolleys can each be loaded with 100 capped water sample bottles. Each trolley locates within the system and is locked in place with specially designed latching pins to ensure that the trolleys always locate exactly in the same place each and every time they are loaded into the system. Additional trolleys were provided for this application, allowing offline loading of 2 trolleys whilst another 2 were being processed by the robots.
