Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) System
Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) systems along with their Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) equivalents are a common application that Labman have undertaken for a wide variety of companies across the world. We are currently involved in the development and design of further COD and BOD units for upcoming customers. One such example of our COD systems is the following ROBOCOD unit.ROBOCOD:
This is a two-armed, 3m long PC controlled wet chemistry robot. It is used here for determining COD in water samples. Water samples of 5ml are taken through a number of reagent additions and an acid digestion takes place in a temperature controlled, heated bath prior to fully automated titration. The gantry robots cap and uncap Pyrex glass test tubes between reagent additions and titration, etc. Features of this particular system are the sampling from off the shelf PET bottles and titration in the digestion tube, air mixing and a solution colour sensor to detect the titration end points. Work listing and PET bar code handling to and from LIMS systems are software programmable.Related Systems
